CHECK OUT: UAE based Filipino grindcore band Maticrust

Maticrust is a UAE based grindcore band that has been active there since 2011. The band consists of Filipinos who currently reside and work in the UAE and came together because of their own extensive history and involvement in the anarcho-punk movement back in their homeland. They are widely considered the band that brought this sound to the UAE as well. The band’s name consists of a Tagalog word “Matikas” which means: firm, strong, durable, etc…and obviously adding the word “crust” to  the end is a nod to the movement that they’ve committed and dedicated themselves to.
