It’s here everyone! The first taste of Taiwanese Buddhist metal in all its glory! Taiwanese band Dharma have unleashed their debut 3 track religious/spiritual masterpiece entitled ‘Bhaisajyaguru’. According to Dharma, “‘Bhaisajyaguru’ is named after a mantra we have selected in the Buddhist tradition to fight against the pain and suffering brought on by the coronavirus pandemic”. Timely release for the band as Taiwan has been dealing with controlling the virus for the past couple of months. Almost immediately after announcing the release of the EP, the band also announced that Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture has once again approved them of an annual cultural funding program. Of course, this would only happen in Taiwan – where else in the world does the government back a metal band.
“Thank you very much to the Ministry of Culture for once again selecting Dharma as one of the recipients of the yearly cultural funding program. We will continue to work hard to spread our ideas and ideals to friends and fans all over the world, using our music as a means of showcasing the culture and the sounds of Buddhism to people everywhere.”
As the world now gets to enjoy the band’s music they added, “We wish all of our listener’s peace, happiness, and a healthy mind and body after listening. We hope you enjoy our music, and please feel free to share it with your friends.”
