We are super excited to help announce the first ever Hong Kong show for hardcore punk legends Black fucking Flag!
The legends have already previously announced a March 28 appearance at one of Asia’s biggest metal festivals – Hammersonic Festival in Indonesia. And this Hong Kong date seems to be the ONLY other date the band is taking on outside of Indonesia. So if you’re looking to see the band in a club setting – get your ass out to Hong Kong!
The Hong Kong show is organized by Plan 9 Promotions who’re the crew who also brought Cockney Rejects, The Jam and UK Subs to Hong Kong recently and are bringing Stiff Little Fingers in February. They know what’s up and when this was offered to them, they jumped all over it.
Poster art was placed in the hands of Hong Kong musician/artist Danny Kostianos of Ball of Snakes. He sent the following info regarding what he put together:
“I’ve always been inspired by punk poster art and in my mind Black Flag posters by Raymond Pettibon have always been the most iconic. When I got asked to make the design I wanted to pay homage to his work and iconography used within his posters…I also wanted to throw in my own flair. The ones that always stood out were the posters with the nun and also the one with the knife…so naturally I fused the two together. Just really wanted to make something that showed exactly who the band is upon first glance and to get Hong Kong excited about them playing here.”
