Philippines-based beatdown hardcore band BRACE YOURSELVES has unleashed their latest single and music video, “The Hour of Death.” This release continues their tradition of delivering intense, hard-hitting tracks that resonate deeply within the hardcore community.
The music video visually complements the song’s raw energy and emotional weight. Lyrically, “The Hour of Death” explores mortality, remembrance, and the unbreakable bonds forged through music and shared experiences.
One of the most striking parts of the song is the final verse, which embodies the essence of the hardcore scene:
“Flourish this song with wild clips
Let us all swim deep to all folks that flips
Our song will remain as you being here
These memories we truly want to keep”
This verse captures the spirit of unity and permanence within the scene. Hardcore music has always been about more than just sound—it’s a movement, a way of life where every show, every pit, every shared moment lives on beyond the music itself. The lyrics express a sentiment that many in the scene hold dear: while people may come and go, the memories, friendships, and impact of the music remain forever.
Their previous work includes the albums ‘Mouthless,’ released in December 2020, and ‘Dive’, released in January 2018, which cemented their reputation as one of the most aggressive and heartfelt beatdown hardcore acts in the region.
With “The Hour of Death,” The band’s third off-album single, following “Vane” and “Endpoint” respectively, Brace Yourselves continue to build on their momentum, delivering a track that celebrates the past, honors the present, and fuels the future of hardcore.
