Check out this brand new Singapore based punk band called Baba and the Black Sheep…they were just down in Malaysia and have put up some live videos from that experience. They’ve also mentioned to me that they’re in the midst of recording their first EP which should be out some time this year.
Band sounds super promising! Check out their great intro below and what the band is all about – how can you not back this?
Good luck boys!

Roots, Rock, Reggae, dis a Reggae music. Add in a slueth of jazz, punk, oi and hip hop influences, and you get us – Baba and the Black Sheeps. This band was started initially by Baba and Shykhai. It took us almost 2 years to find ourselves bandmates whom share the same passion as us. Hence after some failed auditions, people who didn’t turn up for sessions, etc, we finally got the right brothers in.
From our first practice together earlier this year, it was instant. The magic that most musicians spend a lifetime searching was there. We hail from sunny Singapore where our lifestyles are as eclectic as the soundtrack of our lives. Though our background in music differs, we came together because we believe that music ALWAYS UNITES rather than divide.
So here we are, together, sharing our love of music with you guys and gals!
The show at KL was to celebrate Dr Martens 55th anniversary. It was held at rumah api in Ampang, Malaysia.”
