Amazing Malaysian 4 Way Split Shoegaze Comp Out Now [Malaysia]

2024 has been a monumental year for the Malaysian shoegaze and alternative scene, with more bands releasing EPs, demos, and singles than ever before. Local media outlet NOISY HEAD SPACE MAGAZINE has been at the forefront, extensively covering this growing movement.

One of the key highlights of this wave is SEASONS, a 4-way split album that serves as the opening for the 2025 series of the Malaysian shoegaze scene. The album features mewl, a new band making their debut with two tracks, alongside aktadiri, the world ends with you., and heavëner, who each contribute two new tracks as well. This brings the total number of tracks on the album to eight.

The concept of the Seasons album draws inspiration from the four different seasons, with each band’s sound representing one of these seasonal themes, allowing each band to explore shoegaze in their own unique style and approach.

aktadiri, the world ends with you., and heavëner all released their own EPs in 2024 and have been actively touring and performing across Peninsula Malaysia, further solidifying their presence in the local scene.

This split album released on INTO THE FRAY RECORDS and will be out on cassette.
