Alt rock band Northern Sparks release new single [Philippines]

Indie alternative rock band, Northern Sparks, from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines have released a new single titled “BIBO KAGAY-AN”. A groovy song that contains funky, yet punchy bass lines with resonating guitar riffs and a stunning arrangement that will surely make you enjoy listening while nodding your head to its powerful and lively beat. The song was released last August 28, 2018 on facebook for pre-listening during the city’s celebration of the feast. The song was written by the band’s frontman, Jonathan Ian Catalan. The lyrics begin with, “This song is all about my faith and my loyalty”, followed by “to a city I was born and where I’ll build my destiny”, which clearly indicates that the song was intended to showcase their faith and love for the city where the band is currently based. Its chorus part contains a Tagalog (Filipino language) line that says, “…walang katulad kanyang beauty” (her (the city) beauty is incomparable), which obviously boasts the beauty of their city (Cagayan de Oro).

Northern Sparks is currently composed of members, Christian John Dalit on drums, Marc Daniel Fernandes on bass, Jonathan Ampo on lead guitar, Mikko Liboon on rhythm guitar, Richard Badlisan on keyboard, and Jonathan Ian “jian” Catalan on the lead vocals and additional instruments.

“Bibo Kagay-an” will be available on Spotify on September 11, 2018. The band is also set to release 2 upcoming brand new follow-up singles before the year ends.
