CHECK OUT | Victim Mentality
FROM | South Korea
Story by Nora Oliver
Next week will see the Korean glam metal group Victim Mentality traveling to the United States for a pair of showcases at the world-renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, Texas.
Armed with lots of leather and attitude, Victim Mentality will be sharing their fiery, 80s-inspired metal anthems on March 16 at The Belmont in Austin and on March 19 at Maggie Maes Gibson Room. This will be the Seoul-based bands second straight year appearing at SXSW. When asked how audiences reacted to their gigs at SXSW 15, Victim Mentality vocalist Krocodile had this to say.
From what I heard, during our performances last year many people were shocked by what they saw and passed out because our show was so fun and brilliant! This year were going to be even better at SXSW and because of this well be sure to have some ambulances waiting nearby just in case!
And what exactly can fest-goers at SXSW 16 expect from Victim Mentality during their shows on March 16 and March 19?
People who come to see us will not only be blown away by our powerful music, but they will also be blessed with wealth, peacefulness, and good health because we have been given mysterious powers from the gods of heavy metal, says Krocodile. After watching our live sets, people will get lucky and find new lovers, money, etc. So everyone better come see us!
Before flying to the States for SXSW, the act have released a brand new single and music video this week called I Hate Hiphop. It is the first Victim Mentality track to feature the bands latest addition, guitarist Die-Amond. He joined the group in January.
He is the strongest fighter and guitarist from Incheon, which is the city of metal in Korea, says Krocodile. His great playing and outrageousness will make Victim Mentality an even stronger band.
