Hardcore Act TOMB OF REASON Release New EP ‘Existing Hell’ [Philippines]

Baguio-based hardcore act TOMB OF REASON has released a new EP ‘Existing Hell,’ marking a powerful return after years of silence. Formed in 2009, the band resurfaces after over a decade, delivering a five-track record (plus two bonus cover tracks from Defiant and Bystorm) that captures the harsh realities of modern society.

Existing Hell dives deep into themes of political dynasties, flawed justice systems, institutional corruption, and economic despair. Drawing influence from heavy hitters’ local acts BYSTORM, ISVARAH, Prayer of Endurance, Defiant, and Nuclear Punishment, the EP blends crushing riffs with aggressive vocal delivery, incorporating pig squeals to intensify its sonic assault. The record presents a bleak yet honest portrayal of today’s world, framed as a living nightmare, channeling emotions of frustration, agony, and anger into every track.

The EP’s striking artwork, created by Reidon(ex-Payback), illustrates a “reversal of power” concept. It depicts a world where humans, typically at the top of the hierarchy, are overthrown, while the oppressed, symbolized as cattle, rise against their oppressors.

Existing Hell was officially released on March 28 during the anniversary show of More To Life Collective, marking a significant moment for the local hardcore scene.
