On 30th November 2023, Mumbai post-metal, sludge, doom giants DIRGE played one of their most memorable shows while promoting their second album ‘Dirge’. The album was played LIVE in its entirety along with a crowd favourite from the first album – ‘Ah Puch’. Dirge opened for Swiss post-rock band, ‘Hubris’ organised by WherePostRockDwells at Antisocial – Mumbai, an indoor venue where a majority of the underground shows take place in the city.
This LIVE performance marks a crucial event for the band as it was a part of a unique ‘one of a kind’ run of shows that the band performed with their long time producer, Apurv Agrawal playing synths, keyboards.
“This album & the entire performance captures the true nature and glimpses of the LIVE audio-visual experience that we wanted to present to everybody. It was what we had in mind during the release tour of our album, Dirge.
Live at Antisocial is our attempt to showcase the band’s sound, in a manner closest to what the crowd experiences in person, which has evolved over the span of 10 years since our formation. It also goes a long way to represent the true essence of us playing an otherwordly and an emotional roller coaster type of heavy music. This hopefully opens more doors for people in the country and beyond to understand our love for the music, for all the music that we live for, and it hopefully leads to people exploring more of both!” the band added.
