The dudes in UK hardcore band NEGATIVE FRAME just keep levelling up with every release. If you aren’t familiar with the band you should do quick dive into their material and when you’re ready to pick your jaw up off the floor, go listen to their latest track ‘Bad Blood’.
Now that we have your attention, here’s a quick recap of what this band’s roots, straight from the band themselves:
“Negative Frame formed in 2017, through skating the hardened streets of Kilburn, North London where we went to college together. Guitarist Olly Coyne and vocalist Kesari Gorin were 16 at the time, turning up to campus to frequently find police-taped crime scenes on the sketchy high street from the night before.
After releasing our first EP at a show with legends Discharge, we started booking DIY tours where we’d sleep in our tiny 2-door car on the side of the road.
Our sound through covid traversed the pain of the time, we became heavier, graffing up the streets and bunking trains to get to practice. Our first show back was supporting Ironed Out in Camden, where we once brought our heads and cabs on the bus to play shows.
We released ‘Small World’ which blessed us with performing outside of the UK and opening for bands like Thy Art Is Murder, Kublai Khan, through our partnership with Avocado Booking (Matt ex Funeral For A Friend). The ‘Mercy Killing’ EP was released a year later, initiating us to tour Europe for 19 days straight; play festivals like 2000 Trees and pull out of Download for Palestine.”
That’s right, the band pulled out of massive DOWNLOAD Fest in order to support Palestine. Respect.
On the new single, ‘Bad Blood’, vocalist, Kesari added, “I always want people to be able to fit their lives into the songs we write and I think everyone will have some kind of experience like this. Bad Blood is about heartfelt disagreements between loved ones and the painful passion each may feel, the want to be understood.”
On the sick music video itself, guitarist, Olly, had this to say: “We flew back down the motorway all night to catch 5 hours of sleep after headlining Donfest, then woke up to film this music video. We dodged police and security to unload our van, and dragged our full backline across a half-mile of forest into an abandoned police station, in Borehamwood, North London.”
Very cool to see some fellow Asian extreme musicheads who live out here in the west (United Kingdom to be precise) also continuing to actually play music instead of...
