Japan-based metalcore outfit PROMPTS wrap up their 2023 with news of their signing to GREYSCALE RECORDS. The band will officially introduce themselves to Australian audiences for the first time in January supporting The Gloom In The Corner on the Trinity Tour.
Prompts is a metalcore band that seeks to bend the boundaries of their genre, melding elements of nü-metal, mathcore, djent, deathcore and more. Featuring members from both Japan and South Korea, the amalgamation of contrasting backgrounds and influences can be heard throughout the Prompts catalogue.
The exciting new signing announcement sees Prompts in the company of leading names in the Australian alternative community as they join the Greyscale Records family alongside Alpha Wolf, Make Them Suffer, Paledusk, Casey and ANNALYNN to name just a few.
Vocalist PK muses on their latest signing and what’s to come: ”A new beginning, different from our past moves, is starting. Beyond Korea and Japan, anticipate what Prompts will bring to the world!“
Priding themselves on their commitment to championing diversity and chaos in heavy music globally, Greyscale Records have built an empire dedicated to distributing only the freshest and heaviest since their formation in 2016.
Presented by SharpTone Records and Destroy All Lines, January 2024 will see Prompts touring Australia on the Trinity Tour supporting The Gloom In The Corner. Supported by fellow label-mates HEAVENSGATE, the tour will visit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane. Tickets on sale now!
Since their formation in 2012, Prompts have built strong foundations in Japan, this year touring with artists to the likes of Crystal Lake, The Plot In You and Stray From The Path as well as playing Taipei’s Shockwave Festival earlier this year alongside Born of Osiris, Suicide Silence, Annalynn and more.
Their debut album, ‘Fracture’, released in July of last year via Modern Empire Music and features guest vocals from Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher and Ryo Kinoshita of Crystal Lake. Their latest two-track release dropped in March and showcased Prompts at their strongest, encapsulating their unique sound and energy, welcoming Kaito of Paledusk to the fold on leading single Locust. Across their releases, the band have clocked over a million overall Spotify streams and counting.
