Philippines hardcore punk band CLEAN SLATE have just dropped a new single entitled ‘PHC’ off their upcoming EP called ‘Kafkaesque’ which will be on Still Ill Records.
In PHC, Clean Slate describes the Philippines hardcore scene as more than just a scene but a community of people maintained “for us, by us.” The song starts with the line “This ain’t a comeback, we’ve been here for years,” a direct response to recent sentiments that seem to mistakenly assume that the Philippines/SEA hardcore punk scene is new. Music-wise, the song still embraces the earlier influences of the band but with a dance-inducing “mosh part” appropriate for any dance style.
