One of our favorite ways to start any morning…the sounds of post punk, darkwave jams…check out Indonesian band Modern Approach on two new tracks released by Hantu Records.

“Death comes in many forms. Sometimes, it comes roaring like thunder. On other occasions, it could come crawling like the ever growing income gap between us and the 1%. No one knows what it looks like until it comes knocking, or clobbering.

No matter the form, death always bequeathes a foreign, sour taste for those left behind. That unpleasantness is what Modern Approach tries to narrate through their latest songs: Sapphire / Pale and Rigid.

Both of these songs talk about the loss that struck one of their friends. Losing someone important forced them to bury many futures with great sadness and disappointment. Through Sapphire / Pale and Rigid, this darkwave trio from Malang, Indonesia tries to help their friend channel their grief.

Not only for their friend, Modern Approach also presents Sapphire / Pale and Rigid for everyone who’ve been grappling with death and loss. They believe, providing language for grief is important to heal the various traumas that entails death.”
