This Saturday night, August 1, Singapore based collective T:>Works will be hosting an awesome panel discussion entitled ‘Carving Space Underground’. The panel discussion is focused mainly around the female members of the underground hardcore punk community with members of Singapore hardcore punk acts such as Obstacle Upsurge, Radigals, Fuse and E-thereal taking part and will be hosted by Panuksmi Hardjowirogo.
The full write up and links to the panel discussion can be found below.

“Those involved in the DIY/Punk/Hardcore scene in Singapore take on various roles in the process-making, to do what they do. A band member also designs the band’s merch; the organiser of a gig will also take on being the front-of-house. These multiplicities have another dimension when a woman carries out these roles: the unseen labour that is ‘equated’ with a female in a capitalist and hetero-normative framework. This panel focuses on common issues women in this scene experience and gather stories that will further dismantle the status quo of the DIY culture.”
