We Will Not Be Posting Anything Today – It Is a Dark Day For Hong Kong

A law that no one in Hong Kong had access to or say in, including the HK government, was passed last night at 11pm Hong Kong time. We are all only waking up to articles deciphering the law now, and what’s stated in the new law is shaking us to our bones. Included in it is “secret surveillance”, life sentences, the local branch who will oversee this legislation is ABOVE Hong Kong’s own laws, and so much more that has already caused panic amongst the city’s residents. Yesterday people were deleting their social media accounts, pro-democracy shops were taking down all posters/artwork, leaders of pro-democracy movements left their posts and certain political groups have closed their Hong Kong branches.

You can read all about it in this article: https://hongkongfp.com/2020/07/01/explainer-10-things-to-know-about-hong-kongs-national-security-law-new-crimes-procedures-and-agencies/

Thank you to any of you around the world who stood with Hong Kong. It’s too late to do anything now…but Hong Kong people don’t know how to back down, and now that lack of fear will be met with a lifetime prison sentence. The image below summarizes the Hong Kong spirit well – especially that last block. So if you’d like to keep standing for us, keeping speaking about us, keep pressuring your government to do more than release hollow statements, please do so.

Good luck to everyone anywhere all over the world. It is a very dark day for us here in Hong Kong.
