Weekly Podcast Porous Borders Features The Observatory [Singapore]

Dharma (The Observatory) and Wukir Suryadi (Senyawa) interviewed on the latest episode of Porous Borders podcast.

This week’s episode of the Porous Borders podcast features a conversation with Dharma (guitarist of legendary Singapore art-rock band The Observatory) and Wukir Suryadi (instrument builder and one half of Senyawa), recorded last December during a studio session for an upcoming collaborative release and before their December 2019 Malaysian tour.

Dharma discusses his long career in Singapore’s music independent music scene, playing with Keiji Haino at the last Playfreely festival, and his unique approach to playing the guitar. Meanwhile, Suryadi talks about his recent move to the mountains in Central Java, his newest instrument build, and how his new music deals with his fears about the future.
