When Sunlotus Releases Music – You Shut Up and Listen – Tribute to The Smiths [Indonesia]

When Indonesian shoegaze band Sunlotus send us anything we stop everything immediately to smash that play button. This band rules so much.

“It’s time for 2020 to come to an end. There are no such things to be remembered other than tragedies during the past year which changed the habit and life of many people. We also have to accept that our tour has been canceled and other activities are postponed due to the current situation. Although we are still here today, the tragedies passed are worth celebrating.

Wrapping up the year, Sunlotus sent a gift as well as a personal message to those who have been through the joys and sorrows in this difficult time. A tribute to the infamous group, The Smiths entitled “Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me” (from the album “Strangeways, Here We Come” (1987)) launched on the night of Holy Christmas. Of course, this is such an excitement for Sunlotus to re-performed the song with the band’s musical style.

Sunlotus is now to shape up with a new circumstance along within the presence of new faces during the process of recording the latest EP. Regardless of how people interpret it, through this way Sunlotus freely explores both the soundscape or visual in more collaborative ways.”
