Subtropical Asia Release Doc of Orphans From Slums Making It All The Way To Wacken

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime-chance for Doch Chkae [Cambodian metal band], a band of young orphans from the slums of Phnom Penh (who quite literally picked through trash in order to find food every day): In 2018 they were invited to play at Wacken, the worlds biggest metal festival. But their visa was denied and the band fell into turmoil. That they would get through all of this was not likely. But they made it: In the summer of 2019, the teenagers, who usually play in front of 20 people, embarked on a journey to Germany, where they suddenly found themselves on a stage in front of thousands of people. Follow their remarkable journey in our documentary, a story about poverty and inequality, but also about hope and the border-crossing power of music.”
