Singapore prog-rock band Forbidden Planet release video clip

Forbidden Planet

Forbidden Planet is an instrumental progressive rock band from Singapore. They have chosen quite an interesting way to introduce themselves to the world – through a movie clip of a Singaporean movie entitled Perth that uses Forbidden Planet’s music in the background. Check out the press release and video down below.

“The video features excerpts from the film Perth, by Singaporean director Djinn, who has very kindly given us permission to use the clips. It’s a film that has long been close to our hearts, dealing with themes that are as relevant today as they were when the film was first released over a decade ago. The protagonist of the film aptly reminds us, “I’ve been telling you this for some time”.

If you have never seen the film (or even if you have), it’s well worth watching, with some stunning scenes showing parts of Singapore that are rapidly disappearing.

As Singapore celebrates its 50th Birthday, we think it’s an important time to not only look back on how far we’ve come, but to also spare a thought for those who may have been left behind.

Watch this space for the release of our debut album, “From the Bedroom to Oblivion: Two Decades of Obscurity”, coming your way in late 2015.

Follow us on Facebook and YouTube for more updates, we have many exciting things lined up for 2015!”
