Back with a new sound, ‘Not Dead Yet’ is Made with Monsters‘ fresh take on their usual catchy and energetic pop-punk roots, with an upbeat indie twist. ‘Not Dead Yet’ is a double entendre. The song is about the constant reminders that a loving relationship doesn’t die easily. It is a song about how love can get someone out of a rough spot, no matter the distance or circumstance. It’s also the first song the band has released in over a year and a reminder that there is more music to come. The band is also launching a fundraiser to support the migrant worker community in Singapore.
Here is what they had to say: “The Black Lives Matter movement in the United States has brought up conversations surrounding racism and xenophobia in Singapore. We feel that it is important to address these issues in our local context and take a step forward in the fight against racism. The migrant worker community has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to contribute to their recovery by raising funds for the Migrant Workers’ Assistance Fund (MWAF). For as low as $1, you can buy our single, ‘Not Dead Yet’, on Bandcamp, and we will donate all proceeds to the MWAF, which aims to provide food, shelter, and daily necessities to the migrant worker community. On top of that, we will be donating $200 from our band fund to help protect vulnerable and distressed workers. We ultimately hope that the Singaporeans can harmoniously co-exist with the migrant worker community. It is not enough to not be a racist, we must be anti-racist. We stand for change.”
