There’s a lot going on in the world…however, that doesn’t ever diminish from what’s going on in your own communities or in your own personal lives for that matter. You can’t compare any two situations and even if the world is burning, if something significant is taking over your life or your community you need to acknowledge those strong emotions and work on that first before you take on the rest of the world.
In the past few hours, Singapore’s hardcore scene has been dealing with members of their community being outed for their abuse of women within the community. Within hours the bands that feature these people have released statements.

What took place was horrible and despicable and our hearts go out to ANY and ALL victims of abuse. We pray that you’re getting the love and support you need to process through what happened and to find the courage and strength to start to heal and move forward.
We appreciate how quickly the Singapore community has reacted to denounce and clarify that what took place is not representative of their community. The next few days and months will be a profound time for the community to do some heavy reflection as it seems the behaviors of members of other bands are, rightfully so, also being questioned. This is a process that needs to take place in order for the scene to feel like a respectful and heartfelt place for all members.
It’s going to be a tough few weeks but you got this Singapore. Keep the conversation going regardless of how uncomfortable it may be.
