Yo…this album is entitled Venom for a fucking reason – the music captured on this 10 song disc spits rage on any motherfucking detractor or scum sucking piece of shit that has been coming at you trying to tear you down. 13 Steps is a South Korean hardcore band who recently have been heading in a much more metal-tinged direction, and on this slab of beautiful Asian heavy goodness, they FULLY embrace all that’s explosive about metal but stay true to their raw, rugged hardcore roots. The combination is an earth shattering dose of pissed as FUCK hardcore.

If that isn’t enough to get you intrigued…listen to the songs in the music video above and a second track down below and get ready for your head to be thrown for a loop on almost every track. The band really pushes themselves to think outside of the box when it comes to song arrangements, and riffs for that matter. When you check out the track below you will see what I mean. They slow the tempo of the song down a NUMBER of times – making even the most diehard of hardcore kids stand scratching their heads. I say – FUCK YEAH – when that happens. Hardcore and punk rock SHOULD be throwing people for a loop…once everything sounds typical and you start expecting a certain “sound” or “aesthetic” isn’t it time to change shit up?

13 Steps has delivered HARD on this record…there is no reason to not already be crowning this achievement one of the greatest records to be released this year in terms of Asian hardcore.

Get on this shit. Right. Fucking. Now.
