Post Hardcore Act Rekah Make Grand Return With Breath-Taking New Single [Indonesia]

It’s been a good few days for post-hardcore out of Asia with our dudes in Thai band Ugoslabier from a few days ago dropping their chaotic new single:

And then today we get to help announce Indonesian post-hardcore band Rekah‘s brand new single entitled ‘Kereta Terakhir Dari Palmerah’. According to the band, “We’ve finished recording our new album and are ready to release it. The album is called KIAMAT– Indonesian for Apocalypse and this is a track off that album. As usual, our lyrics are in Indonesian and the title of this track means ‘last train from Palmerah’. The song is about despair. About how people are being forced to take up multiple jobs in order to make ends meet. About the precarity of work. About how it seems that there is no way out of this capitalist hellscape.”

Through this song, the band is channeling their love for 2000s post-hardcore and progressive rock bands like Glassjaw, early Sparta, and Porcupine Tree. It’s pretty different from their past materials which leaned more heavily into post-black metal and 90s screamo sound.

The full album will be out in the second quarter of 2022.
