Philippines Announce Third Sadfest – A Celebration Of Philippines Melodic Hardcore

The third instalment of a festival dedicated to melodic/post hardcore in the Philippines, Sadfest, have just announced their full lineup. The fest will take place at Mow’s in Quezon City on July 20.

The Sadfest Team were kind enough to send in some background info on the original inspiration for starting Sadfest:

“Sadfest is basically a name we put together and started last year. It was supposed to be a sort of small little DIY event for the tiny melodic/post hardcore community here in the Philippines, but as awarness of the event started to pick up, we realized we could make it a much bigger event instead. So as of right now, the idea for this event has certainly surpassed the original idea, and has become something that is much more inclusive to everyone – a DIY show for everybody.

The two previous events we had were:

1. A benefit show for Golden Gays Manila https://www.facebook.com/goldengaysmanila/
2. A collab show with Furiosa which was a benefit for Cats of Technohub (a small group of folks that provide care for cats) https://www.facebook.com/catsoftechnohub/

And this 2019, we’ve already scheduled quite a number of other DIY shows/events as well.”
