One of The Best – No Party For Cao Dong – Release Single Off Upcoming New Album [Taiwan]

We throw around the words “favorites” maybe quite a bit because we are the biggest stans of Asian bands probably anywhere on this planet – come on – our entire brand “unite asia” is inspired by how great the bands are out there hence why this website was started in the first place 8 years ago.

One of the bands on that “favorite” list is hands down Taiwanese indie/emo-rock act No Party For Cao Dong. The band blends the most melancholic strand of music with at times whispered vocals that stretch into almost skramz territory at times. For those of you who may not be familiar with the name or the band, they’re one of the biggest acts in Taiwan. There are even reports that the band has the nickname “No Tickets for Cao Dong” because tickets to their shows are so hard to come by.

We were lucky enough to watch them here in Hong Kong when they played at the heart of our indie/underground home of all homes – Hidden Agenda. Their melancholic music on stage live is a whole different emotional adventure.

The band has just released their second single off their highly anticipated second album ‘The Clod’ which will be released in May of this year. The entire track continues to carry the strain and pain of the band’s music and its immense weight of being a voice for Taiwanese bands.

We love this band. They’ve also dedicated the song and this album to their drummer who passed away last year.
