Newly formed Hong Kong metalcore band Acting We Acting release first song

Acting We Acting

Newly formed Hong Kong metalcore band Acting We Acting have been doing a great job sending out little tasters of their existence and the lead up to their unveiling.

Today they finally launched a lyric video for the first song off of their upcoming EP. The song is entitled Lycopolis and their EP is entitled The Birth & The Blood. First song sounds pretty good – definitely on the heavier and groovier side of metalcore with lots of double-bass drum syncopated rhythm work. There are moments the band sounds like a blend of Poison the Well, Architects and August Burns Red – the guitar tone reminds me of Tear from the Red-era Poison the Well, the end “wo – oh oh oh” sounds like August Burns Red.

The band also features a great Hong Kong-based but South African (yeah, read that a couple times for it to make sense 🙂 tattoo artist Rich Phipson who works at Star Crossed Tattoo here (hence the SICK artwork that this unknown band already has – lucky bastards! Hahahaha…).
