Nepalese Metal Band Underside Challenge Nepalese Religious Tradition Head On

Nepalese band Underside have unveiled, more like dropped a bomb, challenging the Nepalese religious tradition of Gadhimai. “Gadhimai is a sacrificial ceremony that takes place every 5 years in southern Nepal at the temple of Gadhimai. Around 200000-300000 animals are slaughtered to worship the goddess while devotees seek peace, prosperity and wellbeing. It is a complete blood bath, claimed to have been banned by various organizations, but still continued till 2015.

Underside strongly condemns killing or abuse of any kind or any manner in the name of “GOD”.
It is yet to be seen if the festival will take place again.

2019 is the year of Gadhimai.”
