Been Missing That Early 00’s Metalcore Vibe? Check Out The World Is Cruel [Japan]

As soon as we hit play on this thing we were overcome with that nostalgic feeling of hearing what later became THE sound of “metalcore” (hardcore with Swedish metal riffs) for decades after. Remember bands like Unearth and As I Lay Dying (before he became an attempted fucking murdering sociopath) that then inspired bands like Parkway Drive and I Killed The Prom Queen and countless others? That’s what new Japanese band The World is Cruel sounds like. This new band is the side project of Japanese edge metal band Embody The Chaos.
