London-based Japanese rock band Esprit D’Air releases their new single, ‘Glaciers’ worldwide.
The new single takes a new direction as a post-rock ballad, following their upbeat and energetic releases, ‘Leviathan’, ‘Nebulae’ and their power metal cover of X JAPAN’s ‘Kurenai’ earlier this year in contrast.
The solo artist Kai says,
“The track was approached differently to our usual work as I was musically inspired by post-rock bands Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky and Mono, as well as the early work of Japanese rock band L’Arc~en~Ciel to create a unique blend of atmosphere, heavy rock with a singalong chorus.”
‘Glaciers’ is mixed and mastered by Paul Visser at The Recording Studio London. The cinematic new song features a blend of both heavy and clean guitars, a choir containing 66 voices sung by lead singer Kai, drums provided by Jan-Vincent Velazco (from neo-progressive rock band Pendragon), and bass guitar by Takeshi Tokunaga (formerly of Japanese power metal band, ‘Knights of Round’).
As featured on Billboard, Loudwire & Kerrang! Radio, Esprit D’Air is a London-based solo project led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kai. Esprit D’Air’s critically-acclaimed debut album Constellations crowned them as winners in the best metal/hardcore album of 2018 at The Independent Music Awards at the Lincoln Center, New York, among an esteemed judging panel featuring Amy Lee (Evanescence), Slayer, Sepultura, Tom Waits, and more.
Esprit D’Air is keeping busy during the pandemic by releasing a new single every six weeks funded by their fans on the membership platform Patreon. The new single ‘Glaciers’ is out now on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, and more. Their next single is already expected to drop next month.
