Japanese metalcore band Versus The Night reunite for one show – True North Festival

Japanese metalcore band Versus The Night reunite for one show – True North Festival to be held on Sunday September 16. When we approached guitarist Adam about the show he had this to say:

“Basically the boys from Crystal Lake called me up a few weeks ago and asked if we’d be interested in playing. Last year when they did the festival they did a set as Crystal Lake 2003 with all old members and that kind of inspired them to want to play with more bands that they came up with. We have been friends for the longest time, they played our EP release show in 2003 back when we were called The Stiff, and then of course I’ve played with them in Fact and Joy Opposites too, and since they wanted to recapture that time, which was like 15 years ago, it’s super exciting….so to have the chance to do it again is so awesome!!! Versus The Night was active from 2002 – 2006 and we put out one full length, an EP and a split with the UK band called Jairus all through the Japanese hardcore label Alliance Trax, and then we had another EP under the name The Stiff which came out in 2003 and was self released. Members of Versus The Night went on to play in FC Five and Storm Of Void (the bass player Toku), Inhale and Ghouls Attack (singer Shoichi) and Fact and Joy Opposites (me).”

Thanks to Adam for taking the time to send us that amazing update on the band! If you haven’t heard it then check them out further below – they have that early 2000’s metalcore sound down a T!
