Hong Kong launches new summer music festival: Open Sesame

Open Sesame

The legends behind Hidden Agenda (one of Hong Kong’s best underground music venues) have been working on putting together an amazing music festival that will have it’s inaugural event this August 15 and 16. The festival is entitled Open Sesame. Besides being run by the brains in Hidden Agenda (Ah Wo), the other great thing – more like profound – is the fact that this festival does NOT include any big name foreign acts. In fact, it includes mainly bands from Hong Kong. Now THAT’S the way you support your own community.

The bands taking part and their schedules have already been made public:

August 15
???
Downer
PowerMilk
sexyhammer
???
Shepherds the Weak
Life Was All Silence
ni.ne.mo

August 16

A hilarious teaser video has also been posted online to show you the beautiful outdoor surroundings that will be the stage for this awesome summer festival.

Much more detailed information about this festival can be found on their official website: http://www.opensesamecamp.com

(We just want to add how much we appreciate that the organizers chose to include English as an option on the website – it’s important that Hong Kong maintains it’s international attractiveness by catering to ALL members of society. Thank you Open Sesame!)
