Grindcore Act Dead Vertical Celebrate 20th Anniversary With New Video [Indonesia]

Indonesian grindcore band Dead Vertical were formed back in 2001 in East Jakarta. According to the band, “The music we play is a mix of American & European grindcore styles. Aggressive tempos, heavy sounds, easy to hear but heavy riffs, rebellious atmosphere, and groove. Lyrically, symbolic content with the themes of social realities in people’s lives.”

As with most bands out here (or perhaps even around the world), a band that has been around 20 years is bound to have numerous lineup changes. Luckily for Dead Vertical, they’ve been able to maintain the same lineup since 2005.

The video the band just released comes off their fifth full-length ‘XVII’ released on Blackandje Records.

“In this video, we wanted to produce our very first skate video. The reason is simple because the songs are fast, no-nonsense & punk! It’s perfect for skateboarders who’re out having fun at high speeds. So we collaborated with filmers Hibatul Rama & Okky Harleyano and a local skateboard association called Kendor Jaya. The two skaters featured in the video are Adoy & Maurietz.”
