SUMMARY:13th Year Anniversary Party
DESCRIPTION:The number 13 might make some nervous\, but for The Underground this year\, it’s an excuse to eat cake\, blow up balloons\, and fire off some party poppers. We’re celebrating 13 wonderful years of live music in Hong Kong with a big anniversary party on April 29 at Orange Peel\, and we are inviting you to come and make it a night to remember. \nIn true Underground tradition\, it will be a night to showcase some of the city’s most entertaining live acts. But it’ll also be a chance to bag some prizes in our lucky draw\, with lunch for two at Hotel Icon\, a simulated driving package from Sideways\, a pamper package from Feel Good Factor\, and lots more up for grabs! \nThe show begins with one of the sharpest and tightest indie acts in town: Andy is Typing\, whose songs were praised as “anthemic” and “well-rehearsed” by our reviewer when they played our first-ever Sub Terra show. \nIt’s not often that Chris B coins a new genre\, but the term “tropical rock” perfectly sums up the sound of next band Ocean Boulevard\, with their chilled out brand of summery indie rock. \nThen it’ll be time for the almighty Boogie Playboys\, Hong Kong’s own rockabilly idols. With slicked-back hair and shining white guitars\, the charismatic Playboys will have you dancing all the way back to the fifties with their notoriously fun-filled sets. \nThe bacchanal will be crowned to the sound of ska-tinged punk from the infectiously energetic The MongCocks. \nSo put on your sparkliest party boots and get on down to Orange Peel next month to ring in another year of living life loud in Hong Kong. \nShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)
