Emo Band eleventwelfth Release New Single Off Upcoming Debut Album [Indonesia]

eleventwelfth, the alternative/math rock/indie emo band from Jakarta, is set to release their debut album titled ‘SIMILAR’ featuring Mario Camarena of CHON, Adeliesa, & Reruntuh on March 24th, 2023 through Angular//Momentum Records. Having toured overseas to Japan and Singapore while also has become the opening act to notable bands from the scene such as Turnover, RVIVR, Pianos Become The Teeth, Movements, and Forests to name a few, eleventwelfth has been solidifying their name to become one of the pioneers of the math rock/emo genre in Indonesia.

In 2023, eleventwelfth has once again proved that they are worthy of international attention with their upcoming release “SIMILAR”. After releasing their self-titled mini-album in 2017 with the hit single “your head as my favourite bookstore (feat. Asteriska)” which has passed over 2.5 Million streams on Spotify alone, eleventwelfth began their musical journey and got quite the recognition from lots of press. eleventwelfth then consistently releasing songs every December 11th, each year from 2017-2020 and compiling them into one compilation titled “everything after”, which also received many positive responses from their listener. After 6 years of actively releasing music, eleventwelfth is ready to release its debut album “SIMILAR”.

In an era full of playlists, where an album has become more obsolete day by day, eleventwelfth still believes the importance of how an album can actually translate the artists’ direction and move the heart of their listeners. Hence, “SIMILAR” as an album was designed not as just a collection of songs but more like a concept where all the tracks within the album correlate with each other. Intended to be a no skip & no shuffle listening experience, “SIMILAR” which consists of 11 tracks can be heard in two different ways as the tracklist of the album is reversible, where the listener can choose to listen to the album from track 1 to 11 starting out the album with the first track “back-when-i-leaned-my-back-on-her-back” and ended the album with the last track “front-and-centre” which is called “back-to-front version” or they can choose to listen to the album from track 11 to 1 starting out the album with “front-and-centre” as the first track and ended the album with “back-when-i-leaned-my-back-on-her-back” as the last track which is called “front-to-back version”.

“SIMILAR” will also feature three talented musicians. The first one to be featured is Mario Camarena, a San Diego-based guitarist famously known as the guitarist of CHON, an instrumental math-rock band from the USA, which will play guitar solo in one of the tracks “KALA”. The second one to be featured is Adeliesa, an upcoming female singer-songwriter, which will lend her voice to sing in one of the tracks “another night awake with you on my mind.” Lastly this album will also feature Reruntuh, the moniker of Eky Rizkani, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, which will lend his hand to play the piano and sing in one of the tracks “MASA”.

This month itself, eleventwelfth also just released another single from “SIMILAR” titled “the more i try to trace you forthwith, the less i want to know where to find you” after they released one single in January titled “every question i withhold, every answer you never told” and their first single in December 11th titled “(stay here) for a while”. Their latest single “the more i try to trace you forthwith, the less i want to know where to find you” is a song which tells a story of how one can let go of their feelings when they are left with others who might have been gone. This song started out with how eleventwelfth usually sounds but in the middle, eleventwelfth took a twist with the presence of a children’s choir by Infinito Bambini which elevates the song to a different level and perfectly mixed the purity of the children’s voices whilst the songs build up to become louder and louder until the end.

“SIMILAR”, the debut album by eleventwelfth, is produced by FA Poetra Tiarda also known as Gulf of Meru and will be released on March 24th, 2023 by Angular//Momentum Records.
