Australian Grindcore Band Chikan Chef Announce Japan Tourdates

CHIKAN CHEF are heading back to the shores of Japan for the first time in 3 years for the long-awaited tour of their latest release ‘BITCHES BBQ’!

When the band found themselves locked down in Australia in 2020 they made good use of time recording their latest album, which they were then able to tour on the East Coast of Australia in 2022. ‘BITCHES BBQ’ stays true to form featuring 13 blistering songs that take you on a breakneck journey of wild grind, punk and hardcore riffs and covering everything from raving with crabs to running away from the Chinese police, all in under 9 minutes.

They were lucky to have the opportunity to record at The Pet Food Factory with Jay Whalley (Frenzal Rhomb / Neptune Power Federation), get the record mastered by Clem Bennet (sound engineer for Arch Enemy) and receive the services of artist extraordinaire Glenno (Chinese Burns Unit) for the album art.

The band were also able to get their good friend from the legendary Osaka hardcore band Palm, Toshi Takahashi, to sing guest vocals on the album. Toshi goes all out on the 59-second hardcore track ‘Dibber Dobber Dog Cunt’.

To accompany the album’s release, Chikan Chef also released an Official Music Video for the single, ‘CHIKAN! AKAN!’ (essentially translating as ‘Say No To Molestation!’) which was filmed, directed and edited by Ben Portnoy (C.O.F.F.I.N / Sexy On Site).

CHIKAN CHEF’s live shows are not to be missed – total chaos featuring more tracks than minutes of material, leaving the listener both gagging for more and glad that the experience is over!
