A documentary about domestic helpers and their sacrifices is looking for funding

The Helper

Hardcore and punk rock is meaningless without singing/screaming about something very important…something that requires your awareness of the struggles or issues those who are more disadvantaged face on a day to day basis.

Here is something that is worth your time especially if you live in cities like Hong Kong where “domestic helpers” are a part of every day life. Who are these “domestic helpers”? Often times these are incredibly well-educated people who are teachers, bankers, doctors in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, etc…and have had to make the ulitmate sacrifice in order to make enough money to take care of their children and family. What is the ultimate sacrifice? These are women who leave their children behind so they can come to financially secure cities like Hong Kong/Singapore and work as domestic helpers often working 12 hours a day 6 days a week cooking, cleaning and taking care of other people’s children and homes. Those same doctors, bankers and teachers…

The link to the video and website gives your MORE information about a special documentary that is being made on the behalf of the over 320,000 domestic helper who work and live in Hong Kong.

It is worth your time…
